A UK Destination wedding celebration in Castle Combe
Our couple Jessica and Daniel wanted us to plan a destination wedding in the UK to celebrate their marriage with the grooms family and friends. Dan is originally from the UK, but lives in Brazil, where he met Jessica a few years ago. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, their wedding date was moved several times over the last two years, but when the celebration finally arrived in April 2022, it was the most picture-perfect day in the Cotswolds.
Jessica only speaks a little English, so the couple booked our Full planning, style and design service and requested that we plan a quintessentially English wedding for the beautiful Brazilian Bride to enjoy. The couple married last year in Brazil, but it was really important for Dan to celebrate with his family in the UK. Sadly, both Dans parents have passed away, so in memory of his mum, Dan requested donation to a Breast Cancer charity in lieu of gifts.
The Manor House at Castle Combe, a stunning five star hotel in the Cotswolds was hired for the celebration and made the perfect backdrop to an April wedding in England. Using dancing daisies, fragrant David Austin roses, periwinkle blue delphiniums, delicate wedge wood blue muscari, layered petals of pastel papery ranunculus and greenery, Jill Jeffries wedding flowers designed a beautiful door arch to greet guests. These beautiful flowers were also used in Jessica’s hand tied English country garden bouquet and the top table was framed by growing pillars filled with an abundance of feminine pink roses, placed either side of the top table to enhance the stain glass window and each table was dressed with more garden flowers with cut glass vases under tea lights and pale pink candles. Gold cutlery was hired from Prestige Hire and stationery from The foil invite company who specialise in beautiful foil printing, with menus stamped with a beautiful gold metallic finish.
Jessica’s wedding dress was a unique gown designed by a Brazilian designer Louise Renne. Louise has over 10 years of experience in haute couture fashion who trained at Esmond International, the fashion design school in Paris. The dress was gathered in at the waist to enhance Jessicas slim fame and the square neck design was so flattering. The skirt flared out to an usual and utterly charming length, just above the ankles… perfectly placed to see the “something blue” Manolo Blahnic shoes. Jessicas hair & make up was by the fabulous Gemma Sutton
The evening commenced with a drinks reception and entertainment the Juke Joints, followed by a delicious meal served in the Bybrook – the Michelin star restaurant at The Manor House. Once desert was served, the Juke Joints returned for a second set and a fun filled evening of singing and dancing followed. Guests later made their way upstairs to the Dunstanville with production by Knightlight Events, where DJ Charles ensured the dancefloor was filled… There was even a guest appearance from the Bride, who took a turn at the decks!
