Cotswold Wedding - Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham

Manor by the lake wedding

I first met Aurelie & Gareth one sunny Summer’s afternoon in the pretty Cotswold village of Bourton on the water and instantly connected with  both of them, so was absolutely delighted when, after interviewing other wedding planners, they called to say that they would like to have their wedding day ‘Planned for Perfection

Living just outside Paris, Aurelie and Gareth needed a UK based wedding planner to help them to plan their Cotswold wedding for them. They had considered getting married in France, but as they both adore the beautiful Cotswold’s, they chose to marry in England and plans for their perfect wedding day began…

Firstly, we needed a venue that we could hire exclusively for the day and after short listing some gorgeous properties, Manor by the Lake was chosen as the location for their Spring wedding. Set within seven acres of pretty gardens, located just outside the regency town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, Manor by the Lake is a beautiful Manor House, with a great team who work tirelessly to ensure the perfect day for their bride and grooms.

This wedding was always going to be special, nine months in the planning and weekly phone calls to France, I got to know Aurelie and Gareth really well and knew exactly how they wanted their big day to unfold. Enlisting the assistance of some wonderful Gloucestershire wedding suppliers, the day was everything they had envisaged…. including the exciting news during the planning, that Aurelie was expecting a little sister for their son Evan!

Aurelie and her bridesmaids were able to get ready in the bridal suite at Manor by the lake, where hair stylist Anna White styled hair and one of Aurelie’s friends looked after make up.

Aurelie and Gareth chose Gloucestershire celebrant Sarah Harper-Little from Cotswold Ceremonies to perform a unique ceremony for them, combining both languages, so that both the French and English guests could all understand the vows.

Aurelie looked beautiful in the wedding dress, purchased from a bridal boutique in Versailles called “juste un baiser” (Just a kiss) and Gareth and their gorgeous little boy Evan,  looked very dapper, both dressed by Rob from regency groom in Cheltenham. After the ceremony, guests were entertained by Gloucestershire magician, before moving back into the manor for a delicious wedding breakfast. Personalised menus were placed on each napkin, written in French and English for guests. Pretty pastels were the theme of the day, with beautiful Spring flowers provided by Rose Hamson Flowers

Made By Marie Green made the prettiest of cakes, which took centre stage on the dessert table, surrounded by the brides favourite sweet treat in the ball room at the manor.

Danced the night away  with music from Dizzy feet DJ Neil Carter.
