2021 - A review of an epic year!

2021 was another rollercoaster year for Planned for Perfection, with our wedding season starting a lot later than usual, thanks to the continued UK lockdown. However, once weddings were finally allowed to take place, it was full steam ahead for an incredibly busy wedding season.

Due to the global pandemic, our first wedding of 2021 was actually our first wedding in over 18 months and it was a beautiful micro wedding for just 15 guests, the maximum allowed in the UK in May. The rules and regulations in place were really strict, but we were able to book the Presidential Suite Terrace at The Lanesborough Hotel in London for the wedding party, so that guests could remain outside for the duration of the celebrations. It was such a stylish wedding with gorgeous detailing and an emotional day for all involved, after being in lockdown for so long.

LONDON WEDDING AT THE LANESBOROUGH

TWO WEDDINGS FOR ONE FABULOUS COUPLE!

Hannah and Rico finally got married in May and enjoyed an intimate wedding at The Manor of Hurst in Berkshire, followed by a long awaited party in Yorkshire in October. Hannah is an event planner herself and a regular member of the Planned for Perfection team. Needless to say, Hannah planned the wedding herself and Jane was there at both weddings, to ensure that she could relax and enjoy herself as a bride, rather than as the wedding planner!

As Spring drew to a close, many of our Summer couples were on tenderhooks and opted to move their weddings to 2022. However, Purwa and Milan were determind to get married in 2021 and even though we were holding a 2022 date (always have a B Plan!) they held out and were married in the Cotswolds in July, just days after restrictions were lifted and what a party it was!

MARQUEE WEDDING IN THE COTSWOLDS

MARQUEE WEDDING IN WILTSHIRE

It was third time lucky for Matt & Amelia, who married at the brides family home in Wiltshire. After postponing for the second time, the couple decided that to avoid any more uncertainty, they would have three events over three days with 30 - 40 guests at each event, rather than one celebration for 120 guests. They had a pre wedding party for their friends on Friday, a wedding for their family on Saturday and a post wedding party for family and friends on Sunday. It was a really special weekend with a fabulous team for a wonderful family.

MARQUEE WEDDING IN CHELTENHAM

We have lost count at how many date changes we had for Arthur & Aimee, but when their wedding finally happened, it really was the party of all parties! We have worked with the grooms family a few times now and knew what fun this wedding would be, but it exceeded all of our expectations too! A special thank you to the team at Original marquees for stepping in to help after the initial marquee company went into administration during lockdown. Harry and his team were incredibly professional and a joy to plan a wedding with and we look forward to working with them again in the Summer.

MARQUEE WEDDING AT A FAMILY HOME IN THE COTSWOLDS

We had been planning another very special wedding celebration these two handsome grooms for a couple of years. Having been together for nearly twenty years, they were finally able to celebrate in September with the most heartfelt ceremony conducted by our lovely friend, Diana Grace the Day at their home in the Cotswolds (The video is pending and will be worth the wait!)

After a busy Summer, we were able to fit in a fabulous holiday to the Caribbean and enjoyed the most incredible ten days on the beautiful Island of Grenada. Upon our return, it was full steam ahead once again for a busy Winter wedding season, including the magical wedding of professional golfer Andy Sullivan and his beautiful wife Florence.

Like every wedding season, there are several weddings that we are unable to share on social media, due to signing confidentiality agreements, but it goes without saying that they were incredibly special. We understand the importance of offering a completely confidential service for our clients and so for those couples not wanting their wedding to be shared online, they will remain private events.

2021 has been our busiest year since we established Planned for Perfection in 2007 and next year is even busier. We feel genuinely lucky to do what we do and extremley thankful that we always work with the best very best couples. We also have unwaivering support of a dedicated and fabulous team and wealth of talented supplier friends, who have all stepped up and worked harder than ever this year to ensure the very best day for our clients.

Next year includes more wedding dates moved from 2020 and 2021, as well as planning new weddings for couples who managed to book in with us before all of the postponements. We are looking forward to finally getting back to more amazing destination weddings in Portugal, Spain and the South of France, as well as being closer to home in the Cotswolds and London. As usual, there is a mix between stunning venues, including finally working at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire and returning three times to The Manor House in Castle Combe. We are also planning more beautiful marquee weddings in the grounds of family homes and private estates, which have become a speciality of ours over recent years. The transformation of a blank canvas into a unique wedding venue, is always a joy to plan and enables us to be so creativewith our couples. We can’t wait for some more rather fabulous events to finally happen in the Summer of 2022.

We love planning weddings and pride ourselves on consistantly delivering over and above the expectations of our couples, their families and friends. Despite the challengers of Covid, we have continued to deliver the most incredible weddings and parties time after time. We have now opened our diary for 2023 and, after what will have been the busies two years of our business, we will be limiting the amount of luxury weddings that we plan in 2023 and beyond, so book now to avoid disappointment.
