Luxury wedding weekend in Wiltshire

Last Summer saw many of our postponed weddings from 2020 finally take place post restrictions being lifted. Our gorgeous couple Amelia and Matt celebrated their wedding at the brides family home in Wiltshire, after moving their wedding three times due to Covid 19. When they were finally able to celebrate their wedding, over a year later than originally planned, it was certainly worth the wait!

The couple had actually legally tied the knot just before lockdown in March 2020, with an impromptu and intimate ceremony at home and were excited to celebrate with family and friends in July 2021. The original plan for their wedding day was a lavish celebration for 120 in the day and 230 in the evening, but as the ever changing guidelines and restrictions continued, the family made the decision to downsize the guest numbers, so that whatever happened, the wedding celebration would hopefully be able to take place later in the year. They also confirmed that rather than one wedding day, they wanted us to plan three different wedding celebrations over three days.

A marquee was booked with Florey marquees and built in the grounds of the family home overlooking their lake and surrounding fields. The original plan was for one large celebration space, but we redesigned the marquee so that we were able to use the areas productively for the three different days.

Pingle Pie designed the most beautifully bespoke wedding stationery for the weekend and different guests were invited to the three separate events - a fun party with the couples closest friends, an intimate family wedding celebration and a post-wedding brunch with family friends.

FRIDAY - A PARTY TO REMEMBER WITH FRIENDS

Matt and Amelia invited their closest friends to a party on Friday evening, on arrival the team at Rhubarb served wine, cocktails and canapes. A taco and burrito food stall and a pizza station were open throughout the night, followed by the most amazing dessert stall. Pink blossom trees were adorned with fabulous florals to create a “From under the tree” guest experience, where a selection of delectable miniature desserts were suspended in glass baubles for guests to walk under and minature icecreams were served over dry ice for an impressive food experience.

The Hudson Jukes and a DJ friend of the couple ensured that the dancefloor was filled all night, before the evening ended with an impressive firework display by Cotswolds Fireworks

SATURDAY - AN INTIMATE FAMILY WEDDING

Whilst the couple had already been married for just over a year, it was really important for them both to have their marriage blessed in front of their nearest and dearest. Diana from Grace the day worked with Matt and Amelia to design a beautiful ceremony that took place in a grade one listed barn on the family estate.

The bride looked stunning in her fitted Enzoni wedding dress from Laura May Bridal in Cardiff, with hair and makeup by Gemma Sutton. The groom was dressed by City tailors Bath and groomsmen wore navy suits from Jack Bunneys London.

Following the ceremony, guests were entertained by London Niche String Quartet and Live Event Artist painted guests, who were then given their own unique artwork as a memento of the day. After enjoying a Champagne and Canape reception, guests were invited into the marquee, which looked exquisite with hanging florals above the dining tables. Each table was dressed in pink linen from Just for Linen, beautiful tableware from Duchess and Butler and more stunning florals from Paula Rooney and her team.

In addition to the original wedding day menu, we added in a pre-dessert as an extra sweet treat for guests and with smaller guests numbers, we set up a fabulous inclusive seating format, so that guests could be spaced out if needed, but close enough together for an intimate dinner. During dinner, guests were serenaded by Hudson Jukes following traditional speeches by the father of the bride and the groom.

After the delicious wedding breakfast, the couple cut the incredible wedding cake, designed by London cake designer Rosalind Miller. It sat on top of a gold plinth on a bed of florals located at the end of the tables for everyone to see (it really was a piece of art!) After the cake cutting, the curtain fell behind the top table to showcase the dance area and the first dance saw the bride and groom surrounded by indoor fireworks. More fireworks followed later that evening by Cotswolds Fireworks to end the day’s celebrations.

SUNDAY - A BRUNCH PARTY WITH FAMILY FRIENDS

The wedding weekend ended with a fun & interactive lunchtime party with friends. The marquee was transformed for one final time on Sunday for a more casual dining experience.

There were two canape stalls, where chefs created delicious canapes live in front of guests - a Salt Bar and OFYR which used Rhubarbs amazing fire bowl BBQs, so that the guests can see their lunch being made. Chargrilled tiger prawn, burnt green chilli, lime & coriander, Shallot & honey marinated fillet of lamb and Spiced aubergine mini 'kebabs. There was also a garden allotment stall with lots of beautiful fresh vegetables and salads as well as a grazing table filled with delicious cured meats and cheeses. An Eton Mess bar was set up for dessert, which was perfect for a summers afternoon garden party.

We have said on numerous occasions that downsizing your wedding doesn’t take away any of the style and elegance of a wedding day and this amazing wedding is living proof of that!
