Marquee wedding in the Cotswolds

At Planned for Perfection, we specialise in planning and styling the most extraordinary marquee weddings and thoroughly enjoyed working with two grooms in the Cotwolds last year to design their incredible weekend of celebrations. To respect the privacy of our couple, we are unable to share any guest or couple photographs, other than the ones authorised below and thank R&L for allowing us to share some behind the scences magic from their fabulous wedding.

FRIDAY - WELCOME PARTY IN SAPPERTON

The weekend commenced on Friday with a Welcome Party at Manor Farm Sapperton in the Cotswolds, where guests enjoyed an evening of Champagne, wine and pizza around the pool.

SATURDAY - THE WEDDING DAY

Surrounded by beautiful views of the Cotswold countryside, our couples garden was the the perfect location for a marquee wedding. However, it was on rather a steep incline, so we worked with Abbas Marquees, to successfully build three structures for the celebration. - a ceremony marquee (which was later repurposed as the party marquee) a dining marquee and a catering marquee with a green room for the team of the very best wedding suppliers.
Following the first site meeting, steps were built in the garden so that wedding guests could move from the ceremony to dinner with ease. The steps ended up being a statement staircase to the dining marquee, dressed each side with beautiful florals by our favourite Canadian, talented florist Ronny Colbie.

Both grooms suits were bespoke designs from Clements and Church with ties from Mr Porter and hidden underneath each collar was stiched “The Groom” as a momento of the day.

The styling for the wedding breakfast brought the best in the business together on one table. With delectable food from Valehouse Catering, runners from Northfield Linen, napkins from 88 events company, charger plates & crockery from Whitehouse Event Crockery, glassware from Duchess & Butler, Mother of pearl cutlery from couvert hire, stationery from Ananya cards and more stunning florals from London florist Ronny Colbie

We commissioned a blue wedding cake from Claire at Cake Daydreams, requesting a “splash / splatter / shower / spray / sprinkle / dash” of silverleaf cascading top left to bottom right, which took centre stage under the hanging floral chandeliers.

Entertainment for the day included London Niche Quartet, who played throughout the ceremony and drinks reception. London DJ Matt Maurice worked with The Soul Jets from ALR music to ensure a night to remember for our couple, both keeping the dance floor filled until the early hours. The Watering Hole Events team looked after the bar for the evening party and were a great addition to the party.

SUNDAY - A POST WEDDING PARTY

After a fun filled evening, we commenced the after party with Bloody Mary’s and Virgin Mary’s before a relaxed lunch and afternoon in the sun. Guests enjoyed more live music thanks to the dulcet tones of Angela Quartet. There are no words to discribe this lady’s voice - honestly one of the best female singers that we have ever had the pleasure of working with!

Thank you Joe Short Photo for capturing this very special weekend for our two wonderful grooms and to Vogue Wedding Films for capturing the behind the scenes magic for us.

Thank you

Hi Jane,

Now the dust has settled and things are returning to normal, we just wanted to send you a quick note. The words "Thank you" don't seem enough to cover everything you have done for us.

We always dreamed of having our wedding at our home in The Cotswolds, and you not only turned that dream into a reality, you managed to surpass our expectations. As you know we are very "particular" - so this is an extraordinary feat!

Having had to postpone our wedding twice, you played supplier Tetris with complete aplomb and without an utterance of frustration, as we finally made it to the most perfect weekend of our lives.Your knowledge and expertise are second to none and every single one of the suppliers who you so rightly recommended bought their "A game". Not only that, they were some of the loveliest people you could wish to meet, who genuinely seemed thrilled to be a part of our wedding celebrations. As we said on the day, you are award-winning for a reason, and we have no doubt there are very few people who could have pulled of the perfect weekend as you did. (Especially on our very steep site!).

Over the last week, we have had note after note from our guests raving about the standard of our event. Many calling it the best wedding they have ever been to. Please can you pass on our thanks to Hannah and Fi. They were also both amazing and lovely in equal measure!

Jane, finally, we feel so incredibly fortunate to have had you by our sides during this entire process. Thanks for the laughs, the guidance, the wisdom and the calm. We really are going to miss you!

Sending you lots of love and thanks for delivering not just perfection, but the exceptional!!!!!
